The9900WNGistypicallydeployedin anetworkoperatingcenter(NOC)that supportsthepacketcore. Ahigh-level architectureisshowninFigure3. The 9900 WNG is made up of two components:the9900WNGDetector andthe9900WNGCentral. The 9900WNGDetectormonitorsand analyzespacketsreceivedfromaport mirrorortapwithinthewirelessaccess network. Itgeneratesanomalyevents and status events that are sent to the 9900WNGCentralservertobeused forreal-timeanomalyreportingand network-awarenessreports. The9900WNGCentralprovidesall theuserinterfaces(Webpage, GUI, CLI, northboundSNMP)accessto thedata, andhasalargediskand databasetocollecteventsfromthe 9900WNGDetectors. The9900WNGsystemscalesusing atwo-orthree-tierarchitecture, dependingonserviceprovider requirements(suchasnumberof subscribers, numberofsites, and volume). Formostserviceproviders, a two-tier architecture is used where multiple9900WNG Detectors interfacetoasingle9900WNG Central.
